Ross dreams of surfing the same wave as the greatest surf champions, but he's caught up in his girlfriend's dream wedding, his boss's eccentric plan and his mother's weird desires, which prevent him from pursuing his dream. Until, in the morning, he gets dumped by his girlfriend and, in the afternoon, he loses his boss's trust and is fired. That night, he gets drunk at a sleazy nightclub and discovers his mother's double life. Now, Ross decides the only solution is to run away. He turns on the old rickety van he has had since he was a teenager and, in the trunk, he literally kidnaps his childhood best friends to go together in search of the perfect wave - even though none of the others want it.
